Lara's research centers around educational leadership and policy. In collaboration with Exodus, Indiana Work Force Region 8, and the Monroe County Library, she is co-coordinating an effort with IU Education Staff and the former Chair of the Bloomington Refugee Support Network to provide English Language (EL) services for Afghan Refugee families settling in Bloomington (from Camp Atterbury and other military bases). The families require a myriad of services to feel welcome and supported in the Bloomington community.
