Laura is the faculty director of the award-winning Global Gateway for Teachers, through which student teachers and experienced teachers engage in "immersion" experiences in schools and communities worldwide. In 2012, through Laura's long collaboration with the Foundation for International Education, Global Gateway for Teachers became an overseas school placement provider, today serving student teachers at 30+ colleges and universities across the US. Laura presents on and writes about the powerful impact of international immersion experiences on teachers' professional development and personal growth, and has recently introduced the "Five C" framework for designing transformative cultural immersion programs for student teachers.
