Non-Degree

Non-Degree Admissions

Undergraduate Students

Non-degree status allows students to take courses without being admitted into a specific degree program. If you are interested in pursuing a degree in the future, you may be able to apply a limited number of these courses to your program. If you are a student on another campus you can use the non-degree application to take courses on the Bloomington campus.

Whether you want to enhance career skills, learn something new, or need to complete prerequisites for a graduate program, you can register as a nondegree-seeking student (also known as a visiting student).

You must have a high school diploma or GED to be eligible for the non-degree program.

Non-Degree Program

The School of Education non-degree program is for those who would like to take courses while not in a degree program. Admission into non-degree does not guarantee any admission into a degree program. If a student is subsequently admitted into a degree program, there is no guarantee that non-degree work will count towards that degree program. There are limits to how much non-degree work can be used for a degree program, and 15 hours is the most a student may take as a non-degree. This program uses residential rates and does not infer admission into any Bloomington program. There are no advisors for this program in Bloomington, and this program is not eligible for financial aid.
