Lynn Gilman

Clinical Associate Professor; Director, Counseling and Wellness Clinic

About Me

Dr. Gilman’s work is centered on the training and supervision of graduate students in counseling psychology. Dr. Gilman is currently serving as Interim Program Director for the APA accredited Counseling Psychology doctoral program. Since 2008, she has served as Director of the Center for Human Growth, the departmental training clinic for the Counseling Psychology and Counselor Education programs at Indiana University. The clinic provides outpatient mental health services in the Bloomington community. All services are provided by graduate students in training under the supervision of licensed faculty. The CHG also provides services through outreach programs in the community. For example, the CHG is the provider of mental health services at Ivy Tech Community College in Bloomington in support of non-traditional and returning students who face substantial financial barriers to accessing affordable mental health care. The CHG also provides care to under-served populations in our community by offering services in Spanish and Mandarin for clients whose first language is not English. Dr. Gilman’s teaching, research, and professional affiliations are focused on competency-based training and supervision of counseling students. Courses taught include the Foundations of Mental Health Counseling, Advanced Practicum in Clinical Supervision, and Clinical Practicum/Internship classes.
