About Me

Dr. Anna Merrill is a Visiting Clinical Assistant Professor in the School Psychology Program. She is a licensed psychologist and has worked in clinical practice in school, hospital, and private practice settings in Indiana and Massachusetts. She earned her PhD in School Psychology from Indiana University – Bloomington and was a graduate assistant at the Indiana Resource Center for Autism. Dr. Merrill completed an APPIC-accredited/APA-approved psychology internship at Nationwide Children’s Hospital in Columbus, Ohio. She completed her post-doctoral fellowship with the Leadership and Education in Neurodevelopmental Disabilities (LEND) training program at Riley Hospital for Children in Indianapolis. In addition to clinical practice, Dr. Merrill provides consultation services for schools and professional development for educators and medical professionals.

Dr. Merrill specializes in working with children, adolescents, and young adults with intellectual and neurodevelopmental disabilities as well as other social, learning, and behavioral challenges. She is particularly interested in assessment and intervention of autism spectrum disorder with a particular interest in the female presentation of autism and the intersection of autism and gender identity.

She is currently the clinical director of the Learning and Developmental Evaluation Clinic and professor of School Psychology. She teaches courses in practicum supervision, theories of cognition and emotion, and the impact of trauma on students. She is passionate about mentoring students in meeting their clinical and professional goals.
