Take a break in the new Wellbeing Room

Room 2024 is now a multipurpose room for students, faculty, and staff at the School of Education.

Need a break during your busy day? Find a moment of solitude and relaxation in the new Wellbeing room on the second floor of the Wright building.

Room 2024 is now a multipurpose room for students, faculty, and staff at the School of Education. In this room, you can take a mental health break, recenter, and engage in practices that support overall well-being. The room includes comfortable seating, sensory objects, and mindfulness tools such as guided meditation recordings or breathing exercises. Additionally, there are resources like stress-relief items like stress balls and fidget toys, and activities to promote connection and peace. Overall, the room is designed to be a versatile space where individuals can engage in whatever well-being activities resonate with them.

“The Well-being Room is part of a broader commitment to ensuring that students and staff feel cared for, both academically and personally. It serves as a reminder that the School of Education values the whole person, not just their academic achievements, and is committed to providing resources that enhance quality of life,” said Taylor Levell, Director of Career Connections. “The goal for the Well-being Room is that it becomes a space where individuals can regularly decompress, reflect, and recharge, leading to improved mental health and overall productivity.”

The room is a direct result of the SOE Cares initiative. Levell said as more people use the room, any feedback the team receives will be valuable in making adjustments and improvements to meet the needs of the SOE community even better.
